thats what i was thinking as ive looked at flywheels for sale and they seem
to be machined on the back to suit the cps
so what else could it be
as he got a reading from the cps when off the car
but when bolted up and engine turning over there is no reading on his computer
and no error codes
still cant explain the traction failure fault message either
As I mentioned above, when battery levels drop the first systems to usually throw a wobbler is the ABS and Traction Control....also when the BeCM and Engine ECU lose sync some model years crank and don't start and others don't crank....just can't remember which one does which.

The CPS has to be positioned correctly with the correct air gap to the pick up to work correctly...maybe this can be checked.

Low battery volts will throw spurious faults and also can cause the BeCM and Engine ECU to lose sync with eachother....
 
welll im hoping its just some dirt on the flywheel blocking the sensor

Sensor works using the hall effect...as the metal passes it, it changes the magnetic flux in the sensor and this is detected by the ECU....the air gap should only be a mm or thereabouts so crud will have little effect...also crud that is inbetween the teeth will have little effect as crud doesn't change magnetic fields....worth checking though
 
just been out to car and try and find whats up with it
battery is now flat and im getting a fault showing when ive got my lynx plugged in

also now im getting various faults on the message centre
traction failure
gearbox fault
abs fault
i take it now its out of sync then

(dodgy Franglais accent) Psst, I shall say this only once.....(wait I have said it a few times in this thread)....

Weak battery (Which you say is now flat) causes all sorts of issues, including spurious faults first to go is usually the ABS and Traction Systems....

This could also give rise to the BeCM and the Engine ECU being out sync.....

Now charge yer battery to rule that out, then resync using diagnostics and if it still doesn't start, atleast you will have eliminated the two most common P38 issues when it comes to non-starters!
 
right then
battery fully charged and syncmate all plugged in and showing green so that fine
still just spinning over and not firing
then all of a sudden the alarm is going off
i had to disconnet the siren as the fob wasnt turning it off
dont know what to do now
 
I reaken it might have something to do with the under bonnet fuse box.

It's getting hot & cutting out. After a short cooling period it re-starts.
Battery going flat & spurious warnings, & the alarm kicking in all by itself is leading me unequivicaly to that fuse box.
 
had an auto electrician out today and his computer is saying there is a voltage supply issue
so its going into his garage for further investigation
