Hi all

To tighten the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt Haynes says torque to 100 nm then angle tighten in three stages, 60,60 and then 30 degrees. Is there a point to this or can I just do 150 degrees ? Some people have said that the tightness of the bolt holds the pulley on and does not need a key. This doesn't sound right.

Cheers

As you do the separate angles then you're "stretching" the bolt and on each angle application you're applyig a different torque each time

A one off 150 degrees won't give the same result
