Can anyone tell me any advantage of purchasing a genuine Land Rover fuel tank for my 90 at around £500!... Apposed to one from say Paddock Spares for a fraction of the price (£67)

Obviously I understand you pay a premium for genuine Land Rover parts, but the difference in this case seems more than a little over the top.

Thanks.

Just fitted one of the paddocks ones....I did take the opportunity to slap three coats of paint on before installing and also some ankor wax on top side once fitted. No reason to buy original in my view

Thanks for the quick response.

I guessed that a Paddock tank would do as I have used their spares before, but with such a huge price difference I thought I would check to see what other say.

Will give it a few extra coats of paint as suggested when it arrives... Takes all of two months to get anything of any size down here.

Thanks again.

Thanks to all who replied.

The old tank was taken off and replaced when I had a galvanized chassis fitted last year, so hopefully the nuts will come off without to much trouble.

Thanks again.
