Don't forget to insulate the back of the switch, Mr Noisy told me off because I forgot to!

I have now bought a push button kit from eBay which has arrived and is asking me to connect to the leads coming 'from the ignition barrel to the starter solenoid'. I have looked at the wiring under the steering wheel and also looked at the Haynes wiring diagrams but can't figure out which is which. Could anyone tell me please? It's a 300 tdi disco on a 95/m plate

My Wife and Kids did not like the "push Start" at first.

However now the heater in the rear window is fixed they dont mind so much as they have warmhands now:D:D:D:D:D

My steering lock and Ignition key barrel are buggered too. Some times you have to sit there like a lemon for 10 mins trying to get the bloody thing to turn and start the car

You can take the barrel out and free up the little brass followers that are supposed to follow the contour of the key. If the key's sticking and not turning, that's the problem. It's fiddly, but can be done.

The not turning off is in the electric part of the switch, which is easier to get to and fix.
