Evening all

Does anyone know the exact size of tube that comes off the back of the Hitachi compressor?

I know the outside diameter is 10mm and 8mm but what is the internal diameter?

I am going to order some bits so I can fit the new compressor, 10mm and 8mm inline push fit connectors etc. that is if I need to cut the original pipework

Thanks

I would hazard a guess at wall thickness of 1 to 1.5mm.
If using plastic push fits id wont matter as they only grip the outside of the tubing, only use plastic ones on dead straight pipe runs, the slightest curve is asking for trouble in the future.
Brass ones on the other hand normally have a support tube built in, though to be fair we use them all the time at work on various tubing and never give a thought to the id of the tubing!

Might be some kits with fittings on ebay?

Plus 1 ^^^^^

only need the inserts when using compression fittings , alas never used

here’s also a handy chart showing the various sizes of the tubing

if u find a connection is tight, as in not having a lot of room , do a loop of the plastic pipe

hope that helps

Cheers gents

Just both the 10mm and 8mm OD tube comes with different ID sizes that's all

Just wanted to make sure I get the correct ID tube, we all know how temperamental these things can be! ha

We use all sorts at work, generally 1.5 to 2mm wall thickness, but max pressure is 12 bar Iirc, and I think disco runs higher so may well be thicker wall?

What do the pipes you need do? ie are they the pressure lines or just the compressor intake.
