coming home today in my p38 4.0 the temp gauge crept up not into the red but i did put the heater's on full to circulate the system, also the heater's was on warm but kept going cold is this common/just a p38 thing?
i was thinking HG but no sign's of water & oil mixing can't say if there was exhaust gases in the coolant.
could it be a faulty water pump, slack belt?

mine was doing that right up until the bloody thing dropped all the water on the m6, was doing it for a few days with no obvious sign of hg failure.

yeah m8, looking that way. oil filler looks like an advert for hellmans. hopefully not to bad as the dipsticks still black and the water thats left was still just water/antifreeze.
will find out more tomorrow when pete starts rippin it to pieces:rolleyes:

hmm well i have just checked water level as when i did earlyer i ended up wearing most of it(yes it did burn)lol suffering slowly trying to catch out the presurized coolant was a bad idea,so i topped up ran roadtested left to settle and now topped up took back out about 1mile and all seem's ok could it require longer or could it just have been low on water?
