Hi

When I bought my 90 it had the below OME suspension on it

Front
Springs OME751
Shocks OMEN115

Rear
Springs OME762
Shocks OMEN44

I need to change the rear shocks but the rest of the setup could do with replacing (was originally installed in 2003)

The back is starting to sag now, and I think it will all need to be replaced soon.

What are peoples experience with Terrafirma for suspension. its about half the cost of OME which is a pretty big saving..but is it half the quality?

it has none of the problems others experiance, no vibration, caster issues etc..the rest of it is pretty stock in that respect

90 300tdi with 285/75/r16 muds

many thanks :)

Trewey's the man tae ask about thum;)
Ah've just changed all mine back to standard and wasn't a bad price either:D

I think quality wise they are very very good for the price.

some people really like these( me for one) others dont get on with them. There are very mixed reviews.

I have a set of mediums under my 90 and even fully loaded it handles well, the ride is still plush, but the dampers dont seem to work too well and my truck is a little bouncy on more technical terrain (axle twisters etc) but I am carrying nearly max payload. everywhere else it is pretty solid.

quite pleased given the price. dont know where I will go from these as our set-up will need replacing before the next big trip.

I have terrafirma +2" shocks on the front with Bearmach HD springs and it feels good! had to fit cones though,

got rough country +5" on the back and really thinking of changing them to terrafirma, again with bearmach HD springs, the back is a lot stiffer than the front! can be a bit bouncy over speed bumps!!

but off round europe on a mini trip in june and going to be fully loaded up so gonna need the HD springs

I have to say that I am surprised by that. I have had OME on my Discovery for 8 years now and no sign of 'sag-age' :) The 762 is a fairly stiff spring (300lb/ft IIRC) and should take a lot of load.

Are you sure that all the suspension bushes are in good order?

If you are sure that it is the springs then I would consider fitting OME again. A quick search around the forums (or ebay) should turn up a pair that have not been fitted or have only been on once......many people just don't realise how stiff they are without any payload and perfer something a little softer.

Just my 2p worth of course :D
