Clutch

Hi all,

Just been quotes £685 to supply and fit a clutch to my v8! I don't fancy doing it myself on the drive and £685 seems a lot.

Can anyone recommend a garage in Sussex, Kent or Surrey who might charge less?

£540 is quite a lot of labour time! Assuming your V8s clutch kit is an AP and cost the same as mine with a new clutch arm but then again you might not need the £20 arm

Then again box out, clutch in, box back in and bleed clutch if they're replacing the slave

So assuming a day to fit at 8 hours (could be more) they're wanting over £67 an hour!

Yeah having done lots of research I believe the book says its a five hour job. People on other forums seem to think labour should be anything between £200 and top end £350 with parts on top.

I can see that I am going to end up doing it on the drive .

It's not too bad a job just make sure you get the plate lined up properly

I literally got my clutch out last night to investigate why it wasnt working, i removed the engine completely, lifted it up and towards the front, took approx 3 hours, my clutch is fubar'd though, the thrust bearing and melted onto the pressure plate. But, after doing what i did, i can see why a garage would want a fair bit of moolah to do it coz it was a right #### !
