I was driving a long and put my foot on the clutch and all of a sudden the Clutch Pedal was biting just off the floor and not a couple of inches higher, like it did do. My first thoughts were that the Master Cylinder had given up, as it had been leaking for weeks and weeks. So I replace the Master Cylinder and bleed it all and still the clutch is biting just off the floor. So I order a new Slave Cylinder and when it arrived, I took the old one off and replaced it with the new one. Bleed it all again and still the clutch bites just off the floor. The old Slave Cylinder didn't look in too bad a nick and wasn't leaking, but I changed it anyway. I've taken the Gearbox off now, thinking that there was a fault with the Leaver Arm or Thrust Bearing. It all looks in order and looks like some used spares that I have and I can't find anything a-miss.....
Expect that I have a bit of play in the crank with forward and arft motion and have too much end-float.
Could it be that the Thrust Bearings have dropped out or broke or something?
Could this be my problem with not getting a higher clutch pedal?
How much End-Float play should there be?

Please help, cause I'm at a loss right now and I'm not sure if I'm going to have to have the Crank out and do the Thrust Washers, and probably a lot more?

as you have not mentioned have you inspected the clutch presure plate as the springs inside of this do break this will cause you the same problem. ive never heard of the end float causing this problem , i would look at the presure plate first before going down the road of removing the crank

Yes I've had the plate off and all looks fine.
