Hi all

I've just had a complete oils/lubes change from a garage week last friday. I was driving to my sisters today when I noticed the clutch pedal when pressed and released would only come half way up again, finally got to my sisters after 5 mins and then the pedal wouldn't move at all.

Thought that the clutch fluid had gone, but it was fine in the resviour.

noticed that under neath on the gearbox, looks like there is a bolt missing which runs paraelle to the floor.

so any ideas why the pedal won't move anymore??

ta in advance

sounds like fork has gone or release bearing has jammed on guide sleeve, if its either of these the engine and box need splitting

Yep clutch fork gone. Make sure you get a heavy dutyone fitted or that they either weld a plate across the back.

This is a common problem with the pressed out clutch forks, they just wear through.

When my clutch fork went it went down and I flicked it back up but then it wouldn't go down again.

I guess you could check master cylinder adjustment.

my clutch fork went i had ti flick it back up with me foot, then it was uselesss, and later it got stook.

Hi all thanks for the quick reply's.
This is exactly what has happened to mine, and turns out the bolt I thought was missing- is a wading plug "thank Duck"

The garage reckon that it is the Clutch Fork, they did ask about the master Resviour but it's full.
So it's now down to getting an A-Frame to tow her about 50miles to garage and around £286 later.... grrr

Let you know how it goes.

Just make sure they fit a heavy duty clutch fork. I would also look at getting the clutch changed as labour cost for strip is costly.

Ta

That was the second thing I asked, after they told me the cost for replacing the fork.

£287.50 for the fork alone
£367 for the fork and genuine clutch "if it needs it"

Stratton 4x4 in Horncastle are brill

Stu

Yes but the cost of the clutch fork parts is about £10 -£15 your paying about £270 in labour

For piece of mind I would change the lot now for extra £90 and save myself £180 in 6 or 12 months time.

Yes it is expensive compared to want I would get charged at my local garage. But if I went to another well known garage that price would be about right.

make sure they change the fly wheel spigot bush while its split!
only cost a couple of quid for the part but if it rumbles when the new clutsh is in it'll be the spigot bush! an another gearbox / engine split for the sake of 2 bloody quid!

Thanks for all the reply's.

I would have a go at anything, just i haven't got the time or tools to drop the engine and gearbox "yet"
Need it by this friday so i'm afraid the garage is doing for me. But tbh Stratton 4X4 are very good, not had any problems with them at all.
They have lent me their own car so i could get back to work while they were doing work on her, stayed late so I could get her in for MOT.

And the bush and clutch got to be worth getting them done, I did think about the clutch but is there anything else I could get done now while the engine and gb are down and out.

Regards

Hey Guys

Got a Q for you.
I dropped the wagon off on wednesday night about 11:30pm so they could start work on it first thing thurdsday morning.
They still have it and said it might not get done until saturday morning, how long does it take to change the Clutch Fork?????

Got to get to Canterbury this evening so mighty Pi$$ed off, was told a day's work!!!!

Cheers Stu

There taking to pee. If it was booked in today to be fixed then should be no problem.

Sounds like they haven't bothered to a lot enough time in the days books. Or have chosen to do an emergency.
