Freelander 1 Clutch fluid

The fluid level is low in the clutch system in my Freelander. I have an old one from -99 with separate systems for brake- and clutch fluid. Should it be refilled with Dot 4 brakefluid or something else ?

If its pre 2000 (1.8 or L Series diesel), then its basically non serviceable.

You throw the whole master/slave/piping away and replace with a new one.

They aren't that expensive (I think) and its a quick, easy and reliable change.

Often worth checking the bracket holding the slave at the same time and if its showing signs of bending or cracking, replace that to.

Oh, and bung a little lubricant on where the release arm goes through the bell housing.

Just put a master / slave from LUK, avoid cheap crap that doesn't last more than 6 months.
