Changing a clutch on my L series this weekend. I have done some searching and reading up as it will be my first one, but i still have a couple of things i am unsure about.

I understand there are some seals to change. Which seals are these? Is it imperative to change them or is it just advisable?

Would it be advisable to change the clutch slave cylinder at the same time? I think its inside the clutch bell housing on the TD4's but may be external on the L series. In which case shall i just leave it untill it breaks or just change it to be on the safe side.

are there any more things to keep in mind or little quirks of the freelander?

What is the best oil to use for the gearbox? I have found several mentioned but i only want to put in the best really.

Many thanks for looking

The L series uses a Pg1 gearbox. Make sure you use Moly grease on the clutch bearing slider or you will get judder after time. It's a good idea to take out the release fork shaft and grease the bushing at each end. Put a dab of Moly on the ends of the release fork too.
I'd change the IRD outer O ring. The gearbox needs MTF94. Nothing els is suitable!!
