Hi,

My Old Landy Series 3 88" has been good to me since ive had it, but it has just started to clunk when taking off(Not That Kind Of Taking Off Haha)OR, when going at speed, taking off the accelerator, then back on , it clunks

It does this when in 2WD High Ratio and 4WD Low Ratio.

Ive tried changing the Free Wheel Hubs to 4x4 on both front wheels and it does not make any difference.

But as soon as i depress the yellow leaver(in High Ratio +4x4 on FWH's) the clunking stops Completely....What is Wrong?

Many Thanks. :D

You shouldn't need the shaft just the universal joint......easy enough to fit if you have access to a decent size vice to act as a press. To check its best to chock the wheels so you can look for play with the handbrake off and gearbox in neutral so one end of the shaft is 'free'. Also look for cracking in the UJ end caps (the metal discs held in by the circlips).........hope that helps
