OK gentlemen and ladies of course, how about this one.
I have 2001 4.6 p38 I believe I have lost a/c gas pressure to a slow leak in the system, so is it coincidental that the blower fans are running at full speed, irrespective of any input to the fan speed control or temp. setting. To be absolutely specific it would appear that as the a/c became totally ineffective the workshop manual symbol lit in the hevac display, are the two linked directly and is it just a case of fixing the leak and re-gassing?
I am sure it cannot be as simple as that.

First thing to do, instead of taking a shot in the dark at what could be a few causes, is to have the HEVAC faults read with diagnostics. This will pinpoint the problem.
Anyone with Faultmate or Autologic should be able to do it, plus of course there is the main dealer Test Book.
When that's done and the fault codes cleared, you can look at sorting the leak out (Probably the Condenser..common fault) and getting a regass.
Hopefully someone in your area will come up with a few contacts.

I agree with Irish - my AC is empty at the moment, I do not get the fault symbol up at the moment, but in the winter it clicks in. Putting the Faultmate on it the HVAC is compalining that the condensor solenoid is not working (it doesn't work because there is no pressure in the system) - I have another posting here to figure out how to fix my AC problem :)

I was not paying LandRover £240 to 'investigate' as quoted and unfortunately I do not know anyone with diagnostics so trial and error and a suspicion led to one of the blower fans both of which were replaced with second hand units. I wonder how long they will last.

I know haliford do a kit that detects holes, and you stick some gunk in the system and it will seal the hole, and then the gas, don't know how good or bad they are or how much the kit costs though
