chirpy cheep cheep

Thats the noise my disco 300tdi is making,despite being fitted with new belt tensioner,belt,alternater & water pump all in the last month.Someones going to say steering pump. Anyone had similar? Starting to grate on my nerves now. mucky`un.

Does it stop if you spray some wubble udee 40 on da belt.

Nope on the theory.
Just wondered if it was maybe the aircon pulley that was makin' noises.
If you spray a bit of wd on the belt while it's running does it stop singing.
If it does then it sounds as though one or more of the pulleys has become glazed and needs roughing up a bit. Something like a wash leather on clean glass. If it doesn't stop singing then your problem is elsewhere.
Please don't rough it up with the engine running though. I know someone who did that and lost a couple of fingers, he wasn't singing chirpy chirpy cheep cheep!
