hi is it worth having the engine Economy chipped and do you actually gain much on a td4 engine

I get 100mpg from mine, all day long,

if it's a manual gearbox TD4 ..
egr deleted / bypassed ?
consider a synergy2a /ronbox with the pierburg maf .. and dashboard 3 way switch ..

if you've an auto gearbox .. getting a remap done is said to be better ..
'eco' or 'power' remap ? .. i'd go for a power remap ..
and if you need to 'economise' simply keep your right foot out of it ..
( as well as various other things to keep fuel demand low ..
( driving style .. tyre pressures .. etc etc etc ..

a TD4 manual gearbox .. and you prefer a remap ..
i'd still go for 'power' over 'economy' .. cause i'd still have control over economy
plus the power when i needed it .. ( i.e. right foot and gear / engine rpm choice )

step 1 .. get rid of the egr valve and fit a bypass unit .. that will give an extra 3mpg probably
and go from there ..

i have a bluespark cr tech multi map box on mine and what a difference, it is set as it leaves them on setting 2 about 130 bhp it can go down for economy or up 3 settings to max power and torque ,but i find where its set it is quick and has plenty of grunt low down for towing my caravan

Got chipped Td4 2003, manual with Big Intercooler, EGR Delete, new MAF, and Auto Injectors.
Output is about 140 hp , fuel consumption about 35-40 MPG in mixed driving (city/motorway) , only motorway is about 43 MPG.
Of course when driver style is "reasonable"

2002 TD4 auto, synergy 2a, setting 2, egr bypass. Gone from an average 31 mpg to average 35 mpg, best I've had on a long run is 45 mpg. Loads more grunt, and alot nicer to drive.
