few i know had a go, and already someone I know found out he's not on it yet claims has insurance.

what the fook is ........

mine comes up as having insurance (which i do) but it doesnt say what vehicle make or model it is.....not that I need to know! But surely it should be on the database?!

so do you have to tell yer ins co about all yer other vehicles even if yer main insurance policy allows you to drive any other vehicle under TPFT ?

Sean I would check the sall print on that one, some say you can drive any other vechile as long as it is not owned by you and insured.

Unless your a motor trader i've been told that only applies if the other car still has insurance to be on the road

So you can under some policys drive other poeples motors with thier permission as long as that motor has insurance.

The usual wording is any other vehicle NOT BELONGING TO THE POLICYHOLDER and not hired under a hire purchase agreement.

which means either yr insurance run out bfore yr tax OR yr insurance company has cocked up, in which case call their representative in Mumbai and bollock them.

Handy for finding out if your old cars are still going.

I did my last 5 company cars and my wife's old clasic MR2 and someone has them still on the road.

Checked my series 3 and its not on the register, saying that acording to DVLA its not been on the road for the last 20yrs

If the police pull you over and you're not on the official list they WILL confiscate yr car on the spot unless you can prove yr insurance. Take your Certificate with you everywhere and contact your insurance co asap!

Could that be WHY you're not on the list?

If you've filled out a SORN then DVL should at least know you exist. They'll be selling yr plate next.

I reckon the coolest plate is the Lord Mayor of London - LM 0. They have been stopped by hick police outside our capital of civilisation who don't believe the plate exists. (Why the LM should ever want to go out in the country with all those nasty Landies and peasants and stuff is another matter)

H1 is on the Motor Insurance Database today
