Chaps. While having a moochie under the bonnet the other day my eye was caught by a coolant pipe which looked like it had been salvaged off the Titanic. Rusty is not the word. After a call to the main dealer it appears that this pipe is a rather expensive item (what a suprise!). Does anyone know of any non-gen suppliers where I could get this from for a bit less wonga? It seems to lead from some rubber hoses at the ront of the block right round the top of the grearbox and joins some other rubber hoses round the back under the manifold. I think it may lead to the heater matrix. Any help would be great before I hand over a ton and a half to Mr Dealer for a bit of pipework. Will defo have to replace it soon before it turns into dust!!:(

Oy Tight ar*e! Av yer thought bout usin copper?
15-22mm B&Q bout £4 an a cheapo bender, Erm £15 ish?
Ive used it on me big Mini, when i had to mod the rad position,After a few goes yer can Usually get it spot on

Good idea, I saved an arm and a leg by using a 10mm compression fitting to repair a leak on one of the A/C pipes, worked like a dream, bugger the stealers!!!!

Ya know - It had crossed my mind! The only thing that put me off was the idea of still trying to get the right shape at 10pm on a Sunday night with work in the morning! You have a good 'ol Mini Mondo??

You can do it tiny!, think positive!;)

Breakers might be an easier option:rolleyes: :D

As for the mini bit, That was many moons ago:(

If your going to make one, take the original off and draw round it then you have a template. Fit the original back giving you the template to work off in your own time. If the pipe requires flanges to fit into the flexible hoses these can be made by soldering standard copper pipe joints.

Good luck and try not to be late for work on Monday.

Steve :)

Sounds like someone knows what they are doing. Shall I give you the template? Not too keen on draining my coolant twice though..:(

Well if you dont fancy draining your coolant twice, you could measure the pipe in situ, taking note of the angle and direction of bends, measure the outside diameter of the pipe, draw a template from that and see if you know a friendly plumber and get them to make you a pipe.

I would have it made oversize in length to allow for the length of pipe that will be inside the flexible hoses and its easier to make a pipe shorter to fit than finding its too small and starting again.

Remember measure twice and cut once.

Steve :D

Cheers Steve.

I agree - in situ would be ideal, however its like an adders lair under Tiny's bonnet. Trust me to make one then find out I have constructed a strange hybrid of the fuel rail, heater matrix and EGR pipes. Could always buy one, copy it and take it back claiming its the wrong one then dash for the door after my refund?;)
