I could not find a picture of one, but I can describe it well. Take a 40+ ft tow strap with the highest weight rating you can get. Roll it out full lenght and pace off 15' from one hook and tie a loop in the strap. Go to the other end and pace off 15' and tie a loop in the strap again. Take two or three of the heaviest tire tubes you can find and loop them all together in a line and then loop each end through oppisite loops on the starp. (do not tie the tubes in, it will just come undone) Hook one hook to stuck vehicle and the other to another vehicle. The tubes alow the tow vehicle to get moving before the strap tighten and then will catapult the stuck vehicle out. Just hang on for dear life and the driver of the tow vehicle better keep moving when the stuck rig comes free.

Wheres the fun in that !
When i was at the seaside a while ago the RNLi were practising taking their boat up the beach on logs and i remember standing and watching them with one of those enormous lifeboats, i think they were Mersey class (not Sure) with about 70 foot of steel cable out and 150 odd people not 20 foot away !
Do you think this sensible i said, blank look in return. Now we all know to put a weight on but these guys never even thought of it.

Nick.

Safe...where is the fun in safe? And I think you mean the AAA man and he will not go where I tend to get stuck. AA is for drunks, and I really would not want to see a bunch of drunks try'n to get my rig out.

P.S. Sorry about the rig thing... I understand in such a little country there is no trails so no use for a trail rig. Off roading for you guys must be sneaking down a cobblestone ally.

over her we have the Automobile association - hence AA. we dont need an Alcoholics Anonymous, because we understand strong beer.

ffs - a Rig is either an articulated lorry or an oil platform - cant yu speak queens english!?

Queen's English??? The only queens I know are in hives in my backyard and they all work for me. If you mean Old English the answer is no as it is out o date and almost a dead language like Laten. I had a Prof. in college who spoke that old english....had to drop that class cause I couldn't understand her.
So we have the same automobile assoc. only mine has American in front of it making it three A's and they don't have service in the areas I tend to get stuck.

I told you to tie a few tubes in there, but you didn't listen.... Which one of your brothers is the idiot standing out there by the rope.... didn't your daddys teach you that when that rope breaks it can cut you in half? I'll tell you our way is safer than this. Brits might as well forget about a winch if a rope is too complicated for you to master

I can assure you Mr Ken Tucky fried chicken that off roading is more than sneaking down cobbled alleys. I drove over grass and some sand the other day. Hah - what do you think of that!

wot greenjeepster say's might sound strange ,but it will work, and take the jolt outer the pull. . .i always cringe when people use nylon rope un load it up, if it cracks off it can kill ya. . .:)
