RAVE suggests the upper inlet manifold needs to be removed to change the coils packs on a Thor lump - has anyone managed to change them without doing so? Ta Steve.

In 2008 REWMER posted this thread, great pictures just keep scrolling down. He was fitting LPG but it does show the top manifold bolt positions. All you will need is a upper manifold gasket and the one on the throttle body.

I remember a thread where someone had their car in a garage where they removed one coil pack by undoing the bolts that hold it on the frame. The mechanic must have had very small hands!! I tried it and gave up. If you need to change a pack then the upper manifold should come off. About an hour? or half that when you have done a few.

Thanks for the mention Stopover. I suppose it is possible but you will need tiny hands a lot of patience and even then I'm not sure there will be the clearance needed. The manifold comes of real easy, it will take 10 mins if you have a tea break.

Mine also has LPG fittedand it is possible to change coilpacks without removing anything else though as Wammers says, clearance is tight!

Oh well, thanks guys - manifold off it is then, I'm a bass player which gives you some idea as to the size of my hands!
