I have a 2000 TD4 Auto with the standard 16" alloys but want to put on a set of 17" Hurricane alloys which you see on the Discos/Range Rovers. Does anyone know if the current wheel studs/nuts will fit on the 17", without me having to take it to a tyre place?
Thanks

Those wheels won't fit a Freelander without major modifications which may well render your insurance invalid. :(

As for changing the position of the studs to suit wheels from other vehicles I wouldn't know how to do that without changing the hubs to some one-off special fitment.

I've no idea what a 'tyre place' would be able to do, as the PCD (Pitch Centre Diameter) of Freelander wheels is pretty much unique to Freelanders although you might just be able to force on a wheel from some models of Hondas.

For all practical purposes you're stuck with the choice of LR Freelander wheels or some bespoke wheels meant or made especially for a Freelander.

Singvogel.

Are you certain these 17" alloys won't fit, as according to my handbook, Landrover did put 17" alloys on some Freelanders, as an upgrade?

Of course they did - I have them on mine - special 17" Freelander wheels - they were an option - not an upgrade.

I even bought some extra ones for my winter tyres - but they are completely different from any other LandRover or any other vehicle for that matter.

Except as I said for some Hondas which have approx the same PCD - but I don't know anything about the offset of Honda wheels - so I wouldn't advise going down that road.

Bottom line is Disco or Range-Rover wheels will not fit a Freelander without mucho cash being spent on solving the mis-match problem.
