Hi Guys,
I brought a 2001 's' spec D2 td5 in mid June with two main problems, A: the fuel pump was squealing like a stuck pig & B: the keyfob would lock 3 of the 5 doors but wouldn't unlock any, the dash button did lock and unlock the same doors.

So today I changed the fuel pump for a secondhand (genuine) one I got off Ebay for £25 all in with p&p (Result !!) and it works like a dream....

I also replaced the NSR & the Tailgate central locking units that also came from Ebay (£25 & £35 inc p&p) and now the locking locks & unlocks all the doors. but the keyfob will only lock NOT unlock.

So I think it is probably a keyfob issue, or maybe the keyfob receiver (BTW - 'S' model has no sunroofs), so it's not a water issue.

but any idea's as to how to get the keyfob to lock & UNLOCK the doors

thanks Guys

1.dont you have the second keyfob to try to rule out the fob?

2. anyway if the fob disarms the alarm on the unlock command it means it's a receiver or a BCU issue..or the communication link(wiring) between the receiver and the BCU cos the output from the BCU is good as long it unlocks on the switch...the most common failure is the receiver even if there are no sunroofs

3. ... but if the fob doesnt disarm the alarm it means the fault is in the fob
