I have a problem with the locking on my Discovery TD5. It unlocks via the fob, but will not lock. It locks with the key(and bleeps the horn) and the central interior switch works normally. I have read that it could be the relay, can anybody tell me where the relay is and where is the receiver for the remote fob? Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Usual they bleep when locked if you have a door open.

Yes I have noticed this in the past. Now all doors closed and it bleeps when the key is turned to manually lock it and when you press the lock from the fob, although this does not lock the doors.

One of your door switches has probably gone so the car "thinks" one of the doors ( inc tailgate or bonnet) are open when they aren't.

Thanks for your help, it makes sense. All doors will lock though using the interior central locking switch.

With no beep? That's right as the internal switch does not activate the alarm.

The beep is to say that the alarm has not been activated because the vehicle is not fully secure.

The reason it won't lock from the fob is not a problem with the fob or the central locking system. It won't lock when it thinks a door is open as a safety feature, so you can't leave your key in the car and close the remaining door by accident.

Using your key in the door overrides this feature and forces it to lock.

Once you find the offending microswitch and replace it everything should return to normal.
