HI Guys,

I picked up my TD5 today and thought I'd be able to drop my cheap Kenwood CD player straight in there but I'm having problems.

I plug the two IS0 plugs in and the player fires up but there's no sound, also there's a bundle of wires/plugs below thew drivers seat, the cars got controls on the steering wheel but i'm not bothered about those, I just need to know how I can get sound out the speakers.. any help much appreciated as I'v a 4 hr drive on friday and I'll have nothing to listen too :-(

Yeah, I did watch it but it turns out my system isnt like that, what I thought was leads for an amp under the drivers seat was just for the cd changer. I assume it originaly had a regular tape/radio that powered everything.. so still in the dark

Hi, Nothing at all ander the passenger seat and no spare wires under there either. I dont the sys system origonaly had a seperate amp ( Maybe ) the manual that came with the car said it was fitted with either and R660, R960 or R990 radio cassette's.... i'm lost :-(

If you can spare 50 quid buy this Sony CDX-GT450U CD/Mp3 Head Unit with Front USB and: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics .I fitted one and sony speakers ,got a good 60-70 full albums on an 8gb usb skick . Whack it onto USB device shuffle , sorts through 70 of your favorite albums and picks random songs that you might normally skip . ;) .

just checked and theres no sub woofers in the rear door either if that halps narrow dwon the problem

thanks for that OldIrish but I've got the kenwood that I want to put in.. both the ISO leads plug straight in the back, it powers up but no sound...... cheers

Brian and everyone else thanks for your help. It's all sorted now, down in the passenger footwell there were some speaker type cable ( I guess amp in and amp out... connected them together and Bingo.. blackstone cherry at full volume... lovely :)
