98 R diesel needs new viscous fan and ABS accumulator and usual drivers seat wear other than that its great> Only asking for £2000 where am i going wrong?

Few of us want to buy a new car and immediately set about fixing known faults. The response of us unskilled motorists is - if it really is an easy ten bob fix why aincha fixed it. (And if its a pricey fix we're probably not interested).

You might just need to be patient while a more practically-inclined buyer comes along.

Have you compared your pricing with similar P38s up for sale at the moment?

Is your ad sufficiently detailed - buyers won't travel very far unless your ad gives them a good idea of what to expect.

My 3 litre petrol BMW sold in 3 weeks and 3 days, to a guy an hour's drive away, so there are still buyers out there.

sounds good price to me it dosent want a deal some 1 will buy it just hold out for the price u want i love my range rover havin paid 1600 for it and spent another 1600 on it since owning for 6 months still wont part with it

I'm having the same problem with a 4.6, 13 months mot and had to reduce to 1500 this time, fingers crossed. Same as yours though needs some work doing to it.

I tried selling a p38 4.6 HSE here in ireland where road tax and petrol Are stupidly expensive was for sale for 6 months had maybe 6 calls. Add read everything works etc but needs new cats. So one week changed the pics refreshed the add and added "final price drop will be sold by the weekend" the new pics were taken on a sunny day with a nice back drop I had at least 10 calls in 2-3 days and it was sold by the weekend.

Keep the add looking recent and change the pics from time to time as people who look for cars remember when they have seen the same pics.

Good look with the sale

Unfortunately you're not really giving it away at that price with faults. Uniniated people will probably be frightened off.

I'd fix the faults and then up the price.

People don't want cars with faults.

I'm with Steviebabes - plus the very mention of the words P38 puts a lot of LR enthusiasts off their breakfast. You'll probably have to wait for a really knowledgeable buyer that knows the model's problems well enough to fix it themselves & avoid the labour costs.
