oldest scam in the car market. RUN away from it.

Hello,
I am a car and bike dealer based in Huddersfield. I saw your advert placement on the internet and I am interested in buying your Green, 1991, G registered. Please forward me your final asking price only. My shipping agent will handle the shipping and pick-up. Also indicate if you will accept a cashier check drawn from a UK. bank for payment. i anticipate your early reply .Thanks,
MARK..... (Eds note: email address @kittymail.com, Hong Kong Powered by Outblaze) Hello,
THanks for the mail,so i am o.k with the price so i will like to have your full name full address with your phone number so i can inform my client in Uk to send you to the sum of £4,900.so the rest of the money will be sent back to the shippers that will come for the pick up in your location. So i will like you to know as soon as as you get tcheque you will deduct your amount and send the balance to the shippers. mark

Car scams

Bankers drafts can be "recalled" up to 10 working days after they apparently appear in your account. Also, of course, they will need your account details - sort code, account name and number - which they could then use fraudulently!
Beware!

Not wanting to sound to naive, but my bank assures me that if they pay by bankers draft, all will be ok. Can bankers drafts bounce?
I obviously dont want to take some spotty teenager in a call centres word for it as its not his money his playing with

sorry just my eargness to sell , that has made me blind to this. Just re reading it it is very clear that is a scam. Thanks for the advice

ffs......

If you receive any email or phone call from someone outside the UK claiming that they are interested in your car we would advise you to ignore it, and do not engage in any further dialogue with them. It is more likely than not to be a scam.

Many people have been scammed from fraudsters who pretend to be genuine buyers. Some of these scams include counterfeit bank cheques and money orders, fake banks or escrow accounts – sometimes with a complex and heart-wrenching story to make it sound more legitimate. It is something that is not limited to cars, but due to the amount of money involved, you should be particularly concerned with any offer from an international buyer. If it sounds too good to be true – then it almost certainly is.

do wot yu want - its not your money

Theres been a recent trend to buy cars via the net with Bankers drafts - that turn out to be forgeries - i dont know what to look for on one -do you?

also when i used a genuine one to pay in it took a few working to "clear" & as already mentioned they can be recalled - what a night mare
