I was meant to be collecting a new TD5 on the weekend, but found I could actually get it tonight as I'm free (already seen/tested/paid deposit).

Spoke to the seller, the log book still hasn't arrived back with him from DVLA, after he changed the private plate over. He did explain this last weekend. Said it could well be at his house in the post today.

He's already had the tax disc and new keeper slip sent back (together), which were on the car last weekend.

Just waiting on the log book. He said he can post this off to me when he receives it.

I was thinking to do a full HPI check today before going down.

Do you lot reckon this will be ok?

To complicate things, I've just done an HPI check, and due to the plates being changed over, I got this:

There is no descriptive data from DVLA recorded for this VRM. The most common reasons for this are; new registration for which information is not yet available, import and invalid VRM.

My advice, either call DVLA yourself to confirm vehicle ownership, details etc. DVLA should be able to tell you if the paperwork has been received to be processed etc. If it was in the post to him, then DVLA computer would show changed details as soon as they've been updated.
Or be patient and wait until it arrives with current owner. May all turn out ok, but its your money that's gone if somethings up, not theirs.
