Hi All,

I have bubbling window rubbers on the back doors. It looks as though they have gotten wet so I count myself lucky that the door did not fall off.

Am to understand that it is the aluminium strip inside the rubber that is corroding and causing the bubbling, and not the steel door that is buggered?

Many Thanks

Yip, that is a problem with seal aluminium frame, i just found only one rusty spot in rear doors - but easy to fix. Just a little of surface corrosion.
I'll replace all seals (front and rears) the main problem is price for rear ones 220 GBP per seal

they are not to bad to replace as they have a bit missing behind the mirror but what ever you do, do not bend it any where you will not get the bend out and they are £50 od from LR

Yeh doddle to replace, do it sooner rather than later as I had to replace front windows as they were all scratched to fook by the damaged rubbers and all the ****e ghag was trapped within.

I needed two new Window rubber surrounds for Mk1 Freelander 02 and after looking in search I found a post by Kan0 from May 2011.
So I went to the breakers and found some real nice ones,I had my pick of three Landies so I thought I might as well get four now I have Four very good window rubber surrounds.
All I have got to do now is clean them up then just fit them when it stops raining.
I printed off the post by Kan0 and followed his directions/pictures and the rubber surrounds came out just as he said.
I would just like to thank him for posting this.
Roger.
I forgot to say they only cost £5 each,The cost from LR is £40+vat for front and £80+vat for rear.
