I reluctantly fitted a 200tdi britpart water pump approx 1 month ago, i could not get a OEM part unfortunately at the time, and guess what its already worn out, i purchased it from craddocks, i spoke to craddocks regarding getting a replacement, they told me i had got to buy another pump off them, then give them the old pump along with my chassis number details, also a explanation of what was wrong with the pump, it would then get sent to britpart for them to assess it and i will get a refund if a problems found, i had a problem with a slave cylinder of them a couple of years ago, gave it them back, and guess what i never got a refund back, so it cost me twice. how do i stand with this as i thought they would have just replaced it, no problem. would you think i could just demand my money back or just go through this rigmarole and hope i get my money back, i am going to buy a OEM part from somewhere else now, as craddocks dont stock any other make, and im not fitting another britpart pump, sick of britpart rubbish, and craddocks aftermarket service.

anyway rant over

tried that, they didnt seen interested at all, just told me to return it and take it up with craddocks, just ordered a OEM pump from elsewhere, cant be bothered arguing anymore, with craddocks, my blood pressures bad enough as it is, had it with craddocks and ****epart.

Remind Craddocks that the sale of goods act requires them to refund or replace goods not fit for purpose within the first six months of purchase. I garantee they are already well aware of this. They are not legally allowed to fob you off and tell you to approach the manufacturer or to wait for a decision from Britpart as they are the suppliers its their problem. After six months it gets a little more complicated but the onus is still on them to resolve the issue in a timely fashion as you have statutory rights. Did you pay by credit card or paypal? If Craddocks wont play ball report them to the trading standards and apply for a full refund from your credit card or paypal stating the reasons why.

Do a google search on SOGA and confirm your position.
