My vacuum is leaking oil, not gushing but does leak from unit not gasket

Can this effect engine performance? Obviously I am going to fix but just wondered.

Also would the manifold gasket have any effect if leaking oil?

It's not at all unknown for the vacuum pump to leak oil from it's front face, which is rivetted in place. Some have had success repairing it by taking the front off, cleaning it up, using some RTV to seal it then rivetting back in place.

This leak will have no effect engine performance.

Cheers

Thanks Dave
What about exhaust manifold

It probably your inlet manifold gasket that is leaking 'oil'. This is because your inlet manifold is full of oily ****e put there by the EGR.
So, remove both inlet and exhaust manifolds, clean out the inlet manifold, block off the EGR, clean out the inter cooler, and refit the manifolds with new gaskets.
You will also gain some performance.

Ok, egr has gone already, will sort manifold, certain vacuum is leaking though also

Does anyone ever replace The oil seperator? I clean it out but wonder if it gets knackered?

The only thing I've found with the oil separator is that the O-ring (where the spigot enters the head) wears out, so you get oil leak.
