Bollocks Another Problem !!!!

Got a 2001 TD5 Disco ES Auto had about 3 months now and done about 4k miles, had a few problems and getting there now but for the last few days a new problem started, when starting I have to wiggle the auto stick in Park, while turning ignition key and starts dosent do it all the time, hope its not the auto XYZ switch bloody fortune so next week off to indie garage to plug into diagnostics any thoughts ?

i purposely leave my rear windows and door locks not broken because;

A) I can't be arsed to fix em
B) I don't use em and don't really carry anyone in the back
C) If somethings broke, then i feel the landy is less inclined for something new to break

Check your high/ low selector is fully engaged, if you suspect xy switch on gearbox, give it a good spray with lubricant while someone operates the gear lever back and forward.

Hi thanks for the info, have sprayed swith with wd40 as suggested but have not checked hi low range, i wonder was messing with this before i had the problem !

had a mess with Hi & Low range and not done it since so today took disco to local indy garage to hook up to diagnostics there was not one error code and he only charged me 15 quid so will have to keep my eye on this

Try putting it in N if if keeps playing up in P, it should start in either of these. May help

Yeah was trying it in N & P but since its been on diagnostics and playing with the hi & low ratio it seems to be ok up to now.

Sometimes the high/low selector will pop out of gear without you noticing it, it looks engaged and feels engaged but isn't, hence your problem.
