blue smoke

right folks changed the engine in my freelander last weekend now it kinda runs good apart from blue smoke the engine was fine in the doner 75 and ive just used the bare engine there was some oily crud in the exhaust of the freelander from last engine and a little oil in the intercooler any ideas about the blue smoke as it sits and idles fine only under heavy load its there then idle for 5 mins then its clear thanks in advance

Probably just burning off the oil in the exhaust

As already said its probably the oil from the previous engine. You did fit a new crankcase breather filter to the replacement engine though I take it?
