i will try that in the morning, ive had all the injector pipes loose,at injector end, pump is full of fuel, well coming out of bleed screw on top,and been turning over engine, but nothing coming out, will try again in the morning, thanks ,

towed the jeep and it went, switched off and would not go again off the key,the live is at the solenoid on the pump, but live switches off when you turn engine over, does anyone have a pic of the wiring at the back of the speedo as this has been out to weld bulkhead,

Injector has a bleed screw on the top of it between the fuel return and the main throttle spindle. - tiny little hex head bolt - lets the air out of the cover as it thats got air in the top it will take a long time to come through the system, and will cause it to keep stalling asa bits of air get pulled through.

just need to sort the wiring out behind the speedo, some loose wires doing nothing,i now they could be spares but one or 2 should be connected to something,

all the clocks were taken out to weld bulkhead, but i never stripped it,fuel guage not working, and some loose wires,so could do with a pic,or wiring diagram,

Do a quick google for the the workshop manual, its in there for every type of engine. Its fairly simple to put back together if i recall.

The warning lights simple have two bit plugs - will only go on one way round.

As for the fuel guage, temp and spedo - down load a copy as above........

Hi there.
You could eliminate any possible wiring faults to the stop solenoid by just putting a spade connector on a long peice of wire and connect it straight to the +on the battery and the stop solenoid connection, it'll click and you will know for sure you have no issues with power to that, bleed up the pump injectors ect and sort the power supply when your mind is fresh and your fingers not stinking of diesel:cool:

could it not be as simple as cranking speed?

you said that you starte it on a jump? and it worked! however when you tried to self start it would not??

the reason i say this is that i replaced the head gasket on mine, once i put it together it would not start, after days of checking stop solenoid etc it was not cranking quick enough....

just a thought
