A stone hit my rad last weekend and now there's a small hole, tried soldering it up but it's not sticking and I'm a little worried about melting stuff while I'm doing it. Any other ideas? Would of tried brazing it but the blowtorch won't melt my rod. It's an old v8 90 rad, copper I think. Cheers guys

get a MAPP cylinder for your torch but be warned it will heat alot of stuff up lol.

Did you give the area a good seeing too to get rid of any ****e???

If its not sticking then its not clean , buff it up and plenty of flux, (bakers etc) It only needs to be hot enough to melt solder, dont put in too much heat as you will unstick other solder joints nearby HTSH

Think I've sorted it now I cleaned it up some more and used some flux. Thanks for the help guys.
I'll probably replace it when the new engine goes in cheers again
