Going to be changing my diff oil, transfer box oil and gearbox oil at the weekend....

im i right in saying you can use the same oil for the diffs and the transfer box?

And can anyone recomend some decent quailty oil.... :D

Did a search but got really bored after 3 pages...

As Andy says - EP90 in the transfer box and diffs. I buy in bulk and use a large metal syringe thing (made by sealey) to inject through the filler holes.

Make sure the filler undoes before you drain - it's a real shag to find out it doesn't afterwards!

Using MTF94 in the gearbox (mines a 1994 300 Tdi), although ATF Dexron II or III is fine as well. From trawling threads (I'm not brave enough to ask questions about tyres or oils myself!) the MTF appears to have been a manufacturer recommended change.

I order my MTF from Rimmers - not sure that they're the cheapest, but couldn't source locally:eek:

Whatever you do, don't put EP90 in the gearbox - that's bad, bad, bad:D
