behind dash clock relays bloody haynes book is useless

took clocks out to replace relay and there is only 1 yellow one which i will replace anyway, i found what looks to be another plug which is red and has varied wires comng out the back and does look like it should have a relay in it. It does have a link wire that is blue and red across two of the slots. pictures attached. anyone know whst it is, is for and whats missing.

It may help if you tell us what vehicle it is eh!!

defender 90 1996 hardtop 2.4

They look a little like headlamp wires, but if the headlights worked as they should the I'm not sure.

I've stripped mine down and would have a look at the full loom, however I'm currently badly and bed ridden.

there use to be a dip/dim unit in there
