I have a 52 plate td5. The rear can settle right down in an hour of maybe over night. On start up it rises to normal height in about 15 seconds. Once at ride height the driver's side is 15mm lower (just as it is when settled). I have done a soapy water test and the driver's side air bag is producing plenty of "frog spawn" and is obviously leaking.

I am going to change both air bags, but before I do so is there anything else I should be looking at (does one knackered bag cause both sides to settle?)

I also noticed that on the load sensors, the bottom links of the vertical arms are split (doesn't seem to affect their operation) Are they available as separate items?

The thread on here regarding the air set up is very good. Have I missed anything?

Thanks in advance;)

The car will drop if one air bag is leaking, as the car drops on 1 side the car will try to level hence it drops to match the other, bit like a seesaw until its on its arse.
Had mine replaced recently when I had my clutch changed, £180 for the bags from adventure 4x4 in Morley.

Thanks for the reply............that makes sense! I have priced them at Foundry 4X4 at the same price.

They also told me that the link arms on the height sensors are not available separately.........plastic welding here we go again:D

£180 sounds a bit dear to me. £140ish for the 2 sounds more like it.

My mistake, £80 each not £180 the pair.............I have ordered them at £160 for the pair including VAT. Got a service kit at the same time for £15 and £10 postage on the whole lot:)

To be honest I'm not sure what they are..............I thought Dunlop supplied Land Rover:confused:

It appears not; on another forum this topic was investigated thoroughly to the extent that Contitech themselves are the sole supplier of these air springs.

It was also noted that there is no such company nowadays as Dunlop!! It is merely a brand name.

Also there have been a number of quite spectacular failures with a recent batch of the Britpart/Dunlop ones.

I was only tonight, talking about Dunlop wellies! Ah well. They are on the way whatever they are and they have to be better than the sieves I have at the moment. Thanks for your pointers;)
