Everytime i buy new bearings, I get a tube of 1 shot swivel grease which is dead expensive black stuff. Vendor tells me thats what i should use...

but is it????

Can I use other grease or should i stick to this stuff? I find the black stuff a bit runny.

I'm about to purchase a tub and gun to do all the nipples, so is there a single grease type i can use for greasing all nipples and bearings?

Thanks

erm...I always thought the one-shot grease was for the swivel-housing/bearings.... & I would have thought, totally NOT suitable for wheel bearings!
For wheel bearings, use wheel bearing grease!...I buy the stuff in tubs & use the same stuff in my grease-gun.

As above..one shot is for swivels, for wheel bearings prop shafts & steering ball joints I have always used Castrol LM high melting point grease on all my cars past and present.
If you like the look of the black stuff go for Moly grease.

i knew it, they've been ill-advising! Cant trust even the specialists all the time.

Thanks for your advise all, I'll be purchasing LM High melting poing asap (and redoing recent bearings AGAIN!
