that really does depend what type of sand and your driving style
Stick to the sand thats slightly wet so you don't churn it up. Dry sand and your tyres will just kick it everywhere and bury themselves. Keep your momentum but also keep your revs low to stop the wheels from spinning.
Take a spade.
If you can, take some long timber as well.
Or ask a trattor boy to come along, they are used to handle a spade......
