Hiya all....
Tested my batteries on my Disco this afternoon. Using a decent multimeter one tested at 12.7 volts - OK, but the other tested at 36 volts?
Any ideas way that should be.
Cheers.

disconnect the battery and try it again, summat not right there, your alternator should only pu out 14.7v max:confused:

Are you sure it wasn't 3.6V if it's 36 you're alternator is fooked and there's a good chance ya battery could explode in ya face.

12V alternator would be hard pressed to put out 36V. Had a regulator fail on a Frontera a and it was putting out about 18V which over about 15 miles trashed the battery completely. Bear in mind, the difference between a 12V and 24V alternator isn't just the regulator.
Must be a measurement problem.
