right where to start my lamba sensor wires got caught on the prop and pulled out the plug,i re pinned them and cable tied them out the way(not 100% if got them in right pins) to be honest the car seemed to struggle to start before i rectified this.so may just be coincidence but im told if the lamba was wired up wrong this would not drain my battery as its an ignition live not a permanant, this i can see but up-until then it was ok.
so i fitted a known good battery(not brand new) and it had about 11.4v so required jump starting took round block left to idle switched off and on fine no prob also checked was charging was fine had 14.4v so left a hour went back to it and found dead used a multi meter and found that it was drawing 1amp when wired in serie's what does a p38 normally draw im told to expet 0.3-0.5 amp's?help please

also front screen pull the two fuses if it cures it it's the front screen circuit

I had the same problem with my battery......
I bought a new battery charger with a fault code display panel, first time I connected I had the fault code for cell faulty.

Battery lasted another week before it died.

The usual way is to get hold of an induction ammeter and start pulling fuses , starting with the big ones, and narrowing down. Also on P38s there is a problem with the key receiver which gets over sensitive and wakes the car up when someone somewhere nearby uses a radio key eg Ford Mondeo. The effect is to wake up the systems, after which the car shuts them down again, leaving no trace. 3-4 such events can flatten the battery compleetly overnight. To prove it, disconnect the receiver pre-amp; the key will still work but you need to be alongside the car. It may not be this, but its worth a try if there are no draining systems when you trace.
