Hi guys.
I have a freelander 1 1999 model. When I pull away fast from standing start or while moving I get a big bang that sounds like its coming from the boot, any ideas?

Also....

I'm finding it really really hard to put in reverse and keep it there, if I hold it and slowly pull into reverse, it goes in, but if I dont keep it pulled back into gear, ( very hard ) then it just jumps out.

Its doing my head in, please help me.

Thanks in advance.

Thats your handbrake sticking, try not to wrench it up if possible

HGF is head gasket failure. You aint got that-yet. Bang as in popping or explosions from the exhuast or bang as in two bits of metal whacking together?

could be yer ird and vicus coupling or the handbrake sticking.Whats it like in a tight circle slowly?

As much as it hurts me to say...gotta agree with MHM for once....Now taking myself of for severe beating and self mutilation. Back when Im better for more disagreements.:frusty:

I agree here. The rear diff mounts are the first thing to be checked. I think HGF is way down the list and would have thought there would be other symptoms as well.

Thanks for all your help guys, gonna get them mounts checked, that pic was amazing and points everything i need to know.

Ill let everyone know any findings.
