Out of interest has anyone added an additive to their automatic transmission? Like Dr tranny or liqui moly atf additive?? To make the gear changes quieter and smoother? As a guy at work had it put in in his td5 at a land rover specialist and he said the car is much nicer to drive!, so any advice would be greatly appreciated before I try the stuff out...Cheers

Only lucas atf treatment in boxes showing issues

Be careful what you try

An extra additive over what ATF normally has, if they work, is not something u need if the box is functioning correctly, much the same with most engine oil additives that are on sale.
I can understand you may need something if you can hear the ratios change :( with an auto, the only time you should notice/hear anything is when the box locks up.

Oils are so advanced these days there is absolutely no need for any additives, if fact they can do more harm then good as they can mess weith your oils chemistry. Buy a good oil and dont waste your time with these snake oils.

Ok cool, mine does shudder a bit and my mates did the same and he put the stuff you in and it seems like a new car...literally! I'll try a oil and filter change first

IMO all the additives are specially engineered for theirs purpose and conceived as to mix with oil ... if you have a torque converter lockup shudder my advice is to put a dr. Tranny in without fear as its made especially for that after several scientific experiments ...I don't have shares in it believe me just that I believe in progress and science.;) ... as I said it cured it completely for a friend of mine... off course that doesn't mean to not change an old oil

Sticking valve block/flaring on shifts on the ZF4HP22 in my P38 was fixed by Lucas Transmission Fix. I reckon regular oil and filter changes are the best way of ensuring the box stays healthy.

I recently added DR Tranny shudder fix to a 6 speed ZF auto in a D3,total transformation within 5 miles. One very happy customer who has since done the same to his wifes T5 VW van, with the same results.
I also use DR Tranny cooler clean to flush oil coolers - again an excellent product. Not used any of the other products they sell, but can only imagine they do what they say.
