Disco 1 Approximate time to swap a D1 chassis and rent a ramp type business in somerset

What Ho geezers. As the title says, what's the rough time to do a chassis swap on a 300tdi disco (1 - 2 days etc.) assuming I have a fully prepped second chassis to go on, and does anyone know of any rent a ramp type places or anyone friendly with a ramp near Taunton, somerset?

I've got some rot on my Disco chassis, and I'm thinking I might just get another one prepped and galved and swapped over and be done with it.

Well this thread sank like a lead plumb then. Anyone?

A weekend should manage it,I lifted mine with a scaffold and block and tackle,removed all doors to make it lighter,but only about 1/2 ton in the body,

Hmm.. scaffold - now there's a good idea! I've looked for some for another project but it's frigging expensive to buy. Where did you get yours from?

I suspect you may have one, but im only (relatively) just down the road, and have an engine crane that a number of people have borrowed off me in the past....

I'm a builder so have some ,but you will be able to hire some for a weekend from hire company's,as long as it's the heavy duty steel stuff not the aluminium towers,8ft by 8ft square tower about 15 ft high then there is enough height for straps etc,just tripple the batons up so plenty strength where your mounting your hoist,
