Anyone know a mechanic/shop in Accra, Ghana?

Both sound like great trips. I can't wait to be in East Africa. My real passion is wildlife and photography, so that's the part of Africa that really appeals to me. I just thought driving through West Africa would be an adventure instead of just shipping my car down. I didn't realize what I was getting myself into
You will never regret it. When you look back over the photos in years to come you'll wish it lasted longer - no matter what the little hiccups along the way. The African bush mechanics are some of the best in the world and it is amazing what they can do with very few tools or spare parts. Tanzania was great for wildlife - even outside the national parks. We stayed at Mtwara in Tanzania for an extra week purely because of the wildlife roaming around including zebra and hyenas. I have some once in a lifetime pics and some even better memories.

Figure it's a shot in the dark, but nothing to lose.

I'm definitely due for a checkup on my Defender and I figured that Accra would be the perfect spot seeing as they'll speak English and it's in between the poor roads of West Africa and the poor roads of Central Africa.

I found this place: Land Rover | Service but they're saying I need to register my vehicle for $500 before they can do anything, which is absurd.

There is something clunking in my suspension, which I'd really like to get sorted and otherwise I just want to get everything greased/oiled and looked at by someone knowledgable.

Any advice appreciated,

Tony

I worked in Ghana for 3 years and you would be surprised at what you will be able to find to get your landi fixed. I'll try and get in touch with my mate who is still out there but he lives in Kumasi to see if he knows if that would be of use
