I'm looking for pictures of a TD5 Disco 2 with a bigger intercooler fitted.
Mine is an Auto with A/C and I think I can get one in front of the current Radiator but the A/C condensor will get in the way:(
Better to speak to someone who's 'been there done that' as I'm wondering if there's a bit of wriggle room to get all three bits (Rad/Condensor/Intercooler) behind the grill and if so how was it done?

Hi

I brought a TD5 alive one, and didn't have much of a problem fitting it, it is a little tight though, there are two sorts, you just need to make sure you get one for a disco with aircon

Woah there!

you're talking to a cheapskate here! I wasn't thinking of buying one!

I've already got a high performance intercooler (picked up from a motorsport mate for the price of a pint:)) that will (just) fit behind the grill. My thoughts are to remove the std one then see if there's any wriggle room to make more space and get decent air flow then get some pipework made up to connect the new one.
I've looked and think there is some room to move the rad and condensor to make the room but wondered if anyone else has been there and done that.

I have put coolers from volvo/VAG 2.4TD and renault scenic on non A/C D1s but they were full width . One thing to bear in mind is the pipe entries , ideally both at one end to cut down on piping ....kind of defeats the object if you increase the pipe route a lot . Never done D2s and never A/C models .

EGR blank and clean out pipes and cooler ? Extra fan on cooler ? Water injection ? Sorry , have avoided 5s since the very first one I encountered . It scared me .
