Any one no the max weight you can carry in a roof box on a td4

I no the roof box has a max weight limit of 50kg but will the roof bars be ok

Yes, the figures are low so you have no come-back on the manufacturer if you carry more.

I seem to remember the roofbars and rails having a recommended max load of 75kg.

Ahem, - I have carried more than twice that weight all the way to Macedonia/Greece (2000 miles +) and back over 30 trips with no ill effects.

My limiting concern is for roll on the corners!

I put 'penny-washers' on the roof-box mountings as I didn't like the look of the small ones it came with. I also have pieces of closed-cell foam between the box and the rails.

75 kg or 165lbs but I have exceeded that but only on a short journey and never at high speed

Well I should be ok then I've got about 50kg in the box so combined weight should be less than 75kg
