Another leak!

Just noticed that the windows are steamed up on the Range Rover. So checked the carpets thinking that my new o rings are leaking but no, the wet carpet is in the passenger footwell but on the left under the glove box. I cleaned the car earlier at a jet wash so it look like it must be the pollen cover leaking (I did change the filters recently). Looks like I'll be sealing them up as the next job then! What is it with these cars leaking all the time?

Could be the air con drain plugs are blocked. Lots of silt and crap on the road this time of year than get thrown in that direction. 2 rubber plugs either side of the bell housing, I usually use a straightened metal coat hanger to clear mine, expect an armful or eyeful of water if they haven't been done before.

remove trim from outside lower windscreen down to metal plate over pollen filter case the screw fixing this plate has a fibre washer which corrodes and lets water in though the pollen filter under glove box

remove trim from bottom of windscreen down to pollen filter housing the metal plate over housing has a screw with afibre washer which breaks down and lets water throu into pollen filter case under glovebox silicone does the job

I put some home made rainwater deflectors on my pollen filter seals. I thought "what is the best way to stop water getting in there?" The answer seemed deflect the water away before it gets there. I posts some pics of my "Heath Robinson" deflector shield fix. That was months ago and the damn things work still!!! my filters are dry, so are the footwells.

The car was in Sith Ifrica originally (gold/diamond mine owner), but it has lived in the UK the last 10-12 years. Plenty of rain

Built to SA spec.
