Another Ebay 'darling'. Legit or blatant ringer?

I see nothing wrong with it, I could understand if it looked like he had just put older vehicle plates on a new vehicle but this has clearly been somebodies project, I have a ongoing project 1965 series 2a that has been sitting on a cut down Range Rover Classic chassis since the 80's, I am intending to fit my 200tdi to this vehicle, having vosa approved papers and both V5's , these are built not bought vehicle's, you can tell the difference ;)

Sadly Mr Plod would see it at as illegal - at best a Q plate if you can establish where all the parts came from, although for those who really know their landrovers its clear this was a white TD5 90 pickup that has been given the Tangiers Orange 'hidden/stolen in plain sight' treatment.

Always nice to read the posts from those who are clearly quite happy to tolerate the ongoing theft/ringing of Defenders in the UK.

Yep, me and the others love having our Landies stolen! If you don't want to hear other people's opinions then don't ask, go and call the police.

Seems to be you struggling with Crowmanns opinion

The bottom line is that vehicle is almost definitely illegal. Being extremely generous it could have been build up with chassis mods, should have been inspected (no mention) and possibly on a 'Q'

Being not so generous it could easily be someone's beloved TD5, stolen, re plated with a dead Series ID and modded.

It happens......a lot

Anyone that buys that without a thorough chassis inspection and following a paper trail could very easily be financing the next Defender theft.

If you don't look too hard you won't know and if you know anything about LR's it's because you don't want to know

I thinks that's a fair point, we don't really know. Hypothetically, is it possible to trace the original TD5 through the engine number?

I don't know but it'd be easy enough to tell whether it's really a Series chassis. If it's not you have to start asking serious questions about why would they pretend it is?
