I know people ask chassis questions all the time but I can't seem to find an answer to this:

Currently in the process of cleaning and painting my chassis with zinc oxide primer, commercial chassis black and waxoyl overcoat with waxoyl in the cavities.

I will have a quantity of the zinc oxide after painting the outside and my question is, should I spray the chassis cavities prior to waxoyl to hopefully stop the spread of rust?

Would the zinc oxide not inhibit the rust though as waxoyl itself would trap moisture would it not?

I told you what I think, you don't have to agree, it is your choice.:)

Waxoyl is supposed to displace water and penetrate and treat rust. Personally I don't use waxoyl. I would use dinitrol in cavities, and some of the guys like the Bilt Hamber products. Waxoyl is very thick for inside cavities.

Sorry mate, wasn't disagreeing just thinking out loud!

No problem :) Like I said, it is your right to disagree.I have not done this. I have no definitive answer to your q. just a guess as to what might happen.
Experimentation is good, why not try spraying the paint in some areas, not in others, and see what is holding up better in a few years.
